Every large-scale deployment, whether for a multi-night arena run like Wizkid’s sold-out O2 shows or a high-stakes broadcast event for a client like ITV, starts with a simple object: a pallet of neatly packed boxes. Yet, getting them from our facilities to the venue is a high-stakes process. We’re not just shipping products; we’re shipping the building blocks of a show’s critical moments. Delays are not an option. Our logistics team works in close coordination with tour managers and event producers to navigate the labyrinth of international shipping, ensuring that tens of thousands of units arrive on schedule, every time.
At the Formula One 75th Anniversary event, for example, the challenge was compounded. We delivered 13,000 custom LED Lanyards—or Xylo Pendants—with multiple branding variations for each team and hospitality tier. The logistical plan had to ensure not just arrival, but that our on-site distro team could easily sort and position these specific pendants around The O2 Arena. This allows the creative team to design effects that target specific groups of fans, turning the entire arena into a dynamic, responsive canvas.
The Ground Game: Signal, Zoning, and Integration
Once the hardware is on-site, the focus shifts from the physical journey to the signal path. This is where technical choreography truly begins, transforming crates of plastic and circuitry into a sentient, synchronised network. The first, and most critical, step is the site survey.
Our technicians walk the venue—be it an open field for a festival, a sprawling stadium for a superstar like Maluma, or a signal-dense TV studio for Beat The Chasers—to map its unique topography. They are looking for the optimal placement for our powerful RF transmitters, planning for potential signal dead zones, and ensuring complete coverage. The goal is 100% reliability. When the cue is fired, every single wristband must respond instantly.
This phase is about creating invisible, interlocking zones of light. By dividing a venue into discrete areas, we give lighting designers and show callers an incredible palette to paint with. They can trigger effects that sweep across sections, isolate team colours in a sports arena, or create dazzling patterns that ripple through the crowd.
